Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's sons - was born at Woodland Hills in the year 1956. Her father taught at school, and her mom was a homemaker. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. At a young age, McCormick loved to sing as well as dance. She would also put on puppet shows for kids in the community. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6. This led to an inquiry from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked if she would like to be in show business. McCormick was offered her first significant work in 1964, as she acted in a TV commercial featuring Mattels latest doll, Baby Pattaburp. A year later she was a guest on another company's Chatty Cathy Doll and was immediately chosen to play the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp And ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children to play the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had a blended-family. The show ran for five years. McCormick revealed the story Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick almost lost her virginity in the hands of Barry Williams during the five-year period of the show. At the time, she was 16 and he was 19. The incident could have occurred, she said but the timing wasn't the right time for us.
